・About the fabric

While most corduroy fabrics worldwide are efficiently produced on high-speed looms, this wool corduroy is carefully woven on low-speed looms in Aichi Prefecture, taking a considerable amount of time. Furthermore, factories in Japan capable of performing the "cutting process" for wool corduroy are so rare that there are fewer than two such facilities. After weaving, a special wash treatment is applied, creating subtle wrinkles on the surface and resulting in a soft and smooth texture.

・About the lining (nouchi exclusive)

For this special nouchi exclusive, the lining uses silk dyed using the "Mountain dye" technique.Mountain dye is an ancient dyeing technique passed down by the Dong ethnic minority in Guizhou Province, China. They collect plants from the mountains and fields and use them to dye their clothes. Stovaigh visited them and entrusted them with silk from the designer's hometown of Sichuan, commissioning them to dye it using this ancient technique, solely for the lining of this piece.

These ceramic buttons are a collaboration with ceramic artist Jingwen Wu. Formed and fired using the same process as ceramic art, they achieve a unique, vintage-like metallic texture thanks to the effect of the special metallic element "uranium." To maintain uniformity in shape and size, these precious buttons can only be produced at a rate of two per day.
