・About the fabric
A material blending high-count cotton and bamboo using a special weaving method. The bamboo fibers provide excellent breathability and a moderate crispness. Digital printing was applied at a long-established dyeing factory in Kyoto using a state-of-the-art inkjet printer.
・About the lining (nouchi exclusive)
For this nouchi exclusive, silk dyed with a "mountain dye" technique is specially used for the lining. Mountain dye is an ancient dyeing technique passed down by the Dong ethnic minority living in Guizhou Province, China. They collect plants from the mountains and fields and use them to dye their clothes. Stovaigh visited them and entrusted them with silk from the designer's hometown of Sichuan, just for the lining of this piece.
・About the print
First, Stovaigh modified its own lenses and used old photographic techniques to express the texture of the subject differently from conventional cameras.
Next, after creating a digital image, an additional technique called "sorted paper printing" is used to create unique tones and textures.
Finally, the obtained image is scanned again, digitized, and a digital print is produced.
